How to register your child for school during the summer

YCDSB Admissions Department to accept new elementary student registrations this summer

The York Catholic District School Board welcomes new students for the 2018-2019 school year. Registrations for students entering elementary school will be accepted throughout the summer months commencing July 9, 2018 at the Board’s Head Office located at 320 Bloomington West in Aurora. All YCDSB elementary schools will be closed from July 2nd to August 24th.

The Admissions Department will accept registrations for Kindergarten – Grade 8, Mondays to Thursdays, from July 9th to August 23rd, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kindergarten registrations can also be completed online.

Parents/Guardians will need to bring the following documentation to register their child/children:

  • Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate (for child or parent)
  • Proof of Age
  • Proof of Status in Canada
  • Proof of Residency (2 documents)
  • Proof of English Separate School Support, such as a property tax bill or MPAC Property Assessment Notice (school support forms can be provided, if necessary)

Children born in 2014 are eligible for Junior Kindergarten, while children born in 2013 are eligible for Senior Kindergarten. For more information about the YCDSB’s Kindergarten Program, please visit our Kindergarten page.

Registrations for secondary students will take place at local Catholic high schools, starting Monday, August 20, 2018.

Please note: Parents can also register their child for school in September by visiting their local school before summer vacation starts. Please call the school office before visiting.
